Diplomaticos is a post Rev Marca, launched in 1966, originally set up to be a cheaper version of Montecristo, aimed at the French market; who knew the French were so cheap!

Well, going back to '96+ I cannot remember them being cheaper than Monte's but matched in price. The word was that due to their lower production, they could be of better quality, leaf & construction & this seemed to be an insiders type opinion. Personally I can't recall a bad one, No1's were my fav but as a Cervantes, could be tight. The No5 a delightful change from it's Monte brother.

Pic showing Dippy No2 x2, nice mixed buy.

    No1 Cervantes Lonsdale 42 x 6 1/2" Released '66 in SBN boxes 10 & 25 but changed to Dress boxes late 70's (as were Montes'). Discontinued 2006.

As mentioned a fav of mine, always loved this vitola, despite having more draw problems than the rest of Cuban vitolas put together! Generally, aging & dry boxing would work for most but the Prefect draw needed for some (Special mention to SP Molinis).

No2 Piramides 52 x 6 1/8" Same size as the Monte No2. The only vital still in production of this marca. Beter than the Monte/ Well not back in the day but I have found the monte to be underwhelming over the last few years but haven't tried more than asingle r two of the Dippy in the same time so can't really comment.

    ER Alemaina ER2021, Actually release early 2024, Laguito Especial 40 x 7 1/2 "

Later delivery than even usual for Habanos these days but I am sure they'll be worth waiting for. I would suggest aging some, as they are bound to improve but I'd expect them to taste good fresh as well

As Stevie Boy is the only known member who's managed to buy some, could you add a pic below & later any thoughts, after you have tried a couple? Thanks.
