  • Partagas Serie D LE Revival

These two Limited Editions (2003 & 2004) were a wedding present from my wife in 2009, and have been ignorantly left in an unattended humidor for about 10 years. I had 65% RH beads in there but didn't add any distilled water for the duration of their captivity. There is no mould, but felt incredibly dry and brittle so have had them in a tupperdore with the same (hydrated) beads for about a month and they seem to be making slow progress.

I recently ordered a small sampler which came with 2no 69% Boveda sachets so have moved them to a separate bag with them in to try and increase humidity further

    Hopefully these are salvageable 🤞🏼

Good luck on salvaging those! Best advise would be trying to bring up the humidity slowly over a few weeks (e.g. 50%, 60%, 65%), but I guess you are working with the Boveda packs that you got. Would suggest just putting 1 Boveda instead of the 2.

I read the guide 'from dust to dust' on here and had them in a bag on their own with the GoveeLife hygrometer to see what kind of humidity they were currently at (which was roughly around 65%) so have increased using the next level of pack I have.

Good idea using just one pack 👍🏼

Trying to research a little more about these cigars I stumbled across this. No idea if that's an accurate price or not, but if it is I don't think I could bring myself to smoke it 😳

Lol they should put those prices behind a warning barrier.

You didn't look after yours so it's not worth that much. So you can smoke it eventually 😁

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I found that after about 10 years the D1 had gone flat and bland TBH.

Yea doubt anyone is actually paying £300 for that.

Cigars aren't bullion. They're meant to be enjoyed

With some TLC, they feel more playable than before. Just need a special occasion to light one up
