Favourite Cuban Vs least favourite?


For me:

Love: H Upmann Connoisseur B
Very new to the range but I love it.

Hate: H Upmann Magnum 50
Just an awful flavour and really under-packed for me.


Thought it was interesting they were both H Upmann!

Love: Hard because there's so many and I've been churning my way through singles for the last few years. But still love the Fundadores whenever I come back to them. Mild strength but still flavourful and silky smooth. Classy and I love a lonsdale.

Hate: HU Half Coronas. All been bag 'o shyte! I've had 4 so far. 2 very peppery/harsh, 1 less so but still. 1 lovely flavour ... but almost plugged and then exploded. Not yet to find a good one .. yet so many people have had good experiences!

Love: La Escepcion Don Jose... just a worldie of a smoke! But, in terms of one that can be found and bought as regular production I'd have to settle upon SCdLH: La Fuerza as they age superbly, elegantly and release real complexity in flavour profile, while offering a pretty decent young smoke too!

Hate:hate is too strong... but this will be controversial... I''ve never quite found the taste for Bolivars! Cast me out now!!!
BUT... despite being a D4 fan, I now cannot enjoy them... i get tongue burn/bite from them... so they get my hate vote for now... !

Love Cohiba Lanceros always really enjoy them

Hate Monte 2 never like the flavour profile however I have come around a little always prefer the Dippy 2 or Upmann 2 if smoking that vitola

Hate Boli Royal Coronas, maybe I’ve just never had a good one. Box of BBF’s and PC’s which are great but the RC’s have just been a bit dull.

Fundadores. Aged sig6s pl encantos, ré Peru it's a long list of great smokes but realistically My go to love is a Juan Lopez sellecion no1. Great vitola age wonderfully but also smoke well fresh.


Hate Hoyo épi 2 sorry but can't see the point. Always seems like smoking fresh air tbh

Love a Punch DC, RASS, SCDLH La Fuerza, any of the minuto size cigars and I'm a big fan of the Mag 50 (or any Upmann for that matter).

Never got on with Por Larranaga Picadores or the Vegueros brand (except the Mañanitas).

Don't like Boli's! Sad news indeed Which ones have you tried? Perhaps I can send something you haven't tried to try & find one you can enjoy? Is it the fuller flav?

Love: Hoyo Epi No2 (es, they are light so don't smoke are heavy meal but great morning or after light luncheon) du Gourmet, Boli CG, BBF are wonderful & very consistent ,Cohiba Lanceros, CE, Exquisitos, & my 2002 Seleccion box. ERDM CS & DT, PL PC my fav PC, Party No2, my fav No2, RASCC, All RA's, R&J Panatela's, Trini Fundy - Gold band best, won't be buying any more at current prices,


Hate, again a strong word but D4 is the only Party I don't get on with, H.Upmann Sir Winnie & No2 (there are my two contentious ones). Sanchos Sanchos - sucking air for 2hrs+, Quintero, JLP (even when they were just a Euro each I could like them),

these days I suspect it is psychosomatic... I do own a bunch... small to large, and have in truth enjoys the smaller more slender vitolas.
I even own a brace of BBF from the mid nineties! I will get to them... but I just never seem to reach for them!

There's a few that I come back to and really enjoy (eg. Magnum 46) (and certainly vitolas that I prefer) but I'd be hard pushed to choose just one I that I love and I don't think I can honestly say I hate any.

I’ve had the soapy flavour on a few CC & have a theory that some rollers, or possibly other workers in the process, occasionally use hand cream which is scented & imparts unwanted flavour.
