Fella's. I hope you dont mind but I'd like to tap into your wealth of experience.

I dont smoke as many cigars as I'd like to, I usually wait for a special occasion and one such occasion is coming up. I'm off to a historic car race for the day on sunday and if I make a bit of an effort I can get to a good cigar shop on saturday to get a couple of treats. Now the afforementioned shop only stocks cubans ( tough eh ! ? ) and as I will probably only be eating light and grabbing a plastic cup of beer or two I suppose I should be thinking about a milder smoke.
Could I ask your opinion on what would be a couple of nice sticks for my sunday treat.

I'm guessing you wont be wanting anything too big .... or too pricy.

I think I'd choose:-

PL Petit Coronas
H Upmann Connaisseur No.1
or maybe for something just a little larger Punch ? Punch

But I'd have a packet of Club or Minis in my pocket in case of rain, lack of time or it being too jam-packed crowded to smoke any of the others comfortably.

My two pennies for what it is worth would be a mild Romeo Y Julieta line as you will be smoking on a half empty stomach. Size all depends on how much time you have to smoke but a Short Churchill is robusto size and is nice and fat so people know you are smoking a real cigar lol. Maybe a Partagas D4 as well. If the cigar shop is any good they should be able to make a few unbiased suggestions.

If you won't have eaten much I'll agree with Short Churchill or the Hoyo PR. Might I also suggest the El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme if they have it. Light but flavoursome.

A sensible suggestion. But if you're in Provence I'd go for a Quai D'Orsay, which are popular in France but almost nowhere else. They can have a lovely and distinctive honeyed citrus, almost marmalade-y flavour.

Id look at a couple of petite coronas, Por Laranga and maybe the Romeo y Juliet cedros 3.. Hmmm i just love both of them, nice and creamy, sufficiently mild enough for smoking on empty or snacking.

I agree on those taste notes. The Panatelas is a terrific cigar, but a bit fragile unless you've something to keep them in. I'm not sure if the Imperials and Coronas aren't a bit to big for the occasion though.

the Hoyo de Monterey Petit Robusto is an excellent smoke for an occasion like that. It certainly gets my vote
