I doubt the Cubans sell them for any less than that to H&F (or certainly very little less). Then the tax man gets his share, which amounts, in most cases, to more than the whole price in Cuba, then...

I'm happy to lay the majority of the blame on the tax man (around three quid on an average robusto goes to HMRC - leaving not a lot more to be split three ways: between the producer, distributor and retailer... )

The box looks like "25" but it contains 5 varnished cedar "coffins" each containing a yummy Monte A.

I bought a box in February.

Excellent work boss, essential data as the parents fly out on Sunday ! I've been comparing online, uk and Cuba prices and some of Cuba prices offer better savings than others - just makes the preparation of the wish list so hard.

If my maths is right the RYJ Shorts are about 1/2 what I paid in '07 - 267.50 for 25. I liked them at that price.... anyone seen my passport
