Not good at all, the rate of price rises over the last few months has been unbelievable as it is. Think this might be the end of the line for Cubans and me- I reckon my humidor is about 95% Cuban but that won’t be sustainable going forward. Time to go deeper with NCs and look at getting just the occasional box of Cubans.

Adam, I'd suggest just buying a mix of single Cuban's unless you have certian fav's to make it worthwhile buying boxes. A box does represent a heck of an investment these days & for moderate smokers, getting harder to justify especially when all our other bills are going up as well.

The problem for me is that I’m probably buying one or two boxes per month and some are costing approx 50% more than last year. I’m mainly into regular production stuff thankfully as the premium brands and releases are subject to the biggest rises. I’ve got enough Cubans for a few years if I take it easy so I just need to think of them as treats rather than staples

Your better off booking a few day trips or weekend away to spain, Germany or Geneva. They cost over all would be much beneficial and in Spain you generally can pick up some great bargains.

Begs the question why anyone buys boxes in the UK, when they could go to Geneva on a day trip/ weekend & bring back a 100 aged stix (if accompanied by wife/sig other) on Virgin/easy Jet & be quids in! Wish I could.

Some updated info here, looks like Spain will see the increases first
Habanos S.A. adjusted the prices for Cohiba, Trinidad, Montecristo 1935 and Romeo y Julieta Línea de Oro to the Hong Kong price level for all markets worldwide.

That's the end of Cuban cigars for me then. I do feel sad, though I am generally happy with what NC has to offer. CCs are now made for showing off. A guci bag for tobacco lovers. Great for bragging on Instagram. Who would have thought that the socialist are more capitalist than anyone.

By reading the article it seems the socialists have had enough of the capitalists profiteering from their endeavors. Can't really blame them

I wouldn't pay £30 or £40 for a single cigar so if they go to £100 or more makes little difference to me.

Inevitably rise in CC price means NC will see and adjust up too, unless the US is enough of a bubble to hold the prices down?

I doubt it unless the ultra rich Chinese start seeing NCs as a status symbol as well, seems unlikely.
