A good cigar for a wedding

Well that's the second time the Siglo VI has come up. I already have one in stock, so it wouldn't be a massive financial stretch to grab another for the groom.

As El Cat says though, would it not be a waste of a Cohiba to give it to a non-aficionado? I could talk it up but a Churchill speaks for itself to the uninitiated Hell, he was over the moon when he won a Monte No 3 off me the other day in a game of cards

The beauty of the Davidoff's is they can sit on the table and won't look out of context .... and if you did slip out for a smoke .... the Bride and all the families would just think it part of the occasion.

The downside is .... other blokes (like Catador) might be thinking .... wheres mine!

In 4yrs time, he may be an Aficionado himself by then or even called it off, and then, think about what you'll have sitting in your Humi
I'm sure you'll do the right thing by him.

It's a great idea though. I wish someone had taken me for a nice cigar at mine.

Keeping it on topic (kinda), some of my most memorable events have been accompanied by an equally memorable cigar. . . and there is something almost. . . religious (hmnn.. sacra-licious!) about unscrewing a 'Black and Yellow' tube and sliding out a fine cigar and experiencing its subtle, intoxicating aroma for the first time. . .

Right, where was I? Oh yes.
Perhaps a Robusto or Siglo III might be a better (and cheaper) option from a time point of view.
Can't have the bride getting bored and going off to dance with the hunky handsome guy in the third row (wearing the dashing eye-patch)... can we?

i forgot to mention....... i do believe that the cohiba exquisitos is a wedding favourite (can't remember where i read that)!!!! i'ts a small, elegant looking cigar, estimated smoking time around 30mins, and a true cuban!!!!

for the sake of a wedding, it's nice to mark the occasion with a good cigar, wether the groom is a seasoned smoker or not!!!! let's be honest, not everyone likes or drinks champagne, but they drink it up like it's going out of fashion at weddings (when it's free)!!! i'm sure your mate, the groom, will appreciate whatever cigar you give!!!!

Funnily enough, I did try to convince him to switch his 20 a day rolly habit for cigars instead. To quote Jack Nicholson, "The only way to break a bad habit was to replace it with a better habit."

Well I would trust Catador to bring his own. No self-respecting cigar smoker would come to a wedding without cigars

Back to the main topic, I'm feling a lot of love for Cohibas as a wedding smoke, as well as Tippexx being a strong advocate for Davidoffs. The problem with Davidoff is that a) they're an NC and I'm strictly a CC smoker (although they occupy a strange grey area in that their heritage is very much Cuban); B) Someone is bound to say "What, like the perfume?"

2 x Monte Grand Edmundo EL 2010
