In response to r0lan6?s tongue-in-cheek post in the STICKING TO A PARTICULAR CIGAR thread, I?ve followed through his insane idea:

The rules

1. Add 1 point to the brand you want to keep
2. Deduct 2 points from the brand you wouldn?t miss
3. Only one vote per member per day
4. All brands start with 5 points
5. List your amendments at the top of your post

Your way is actually much easier and simpler than it looks/sounds. At least for every post you get to see the progress being made, as oppose to a poll where your limited to one vote.

Hmm, tricky wee poser. Take it from original posting that we can vote daily. If something reaches 0 does it get removed or is it left in a minus state hoping for someone to reinstate it? Also assume we can only vote once on each brand.

Problem found with this method.
If 2 or 3 of us post at same time we're not registering changes. Posts are crossing. eg I went +1 party, -1 sancho panza at about same time as monkey & lascaux and think result not properly shown.
Is there a better way?

Another problem is when people accidentally reply to posts within the thread that can eventually cause a dip in the thread hiding posts from view. What about a thread composed of daily polls...? Would that work?
