  • Which of this years LEs should I buy?

I've been a tad skint lately but have a few ????s available at the moment. My first thought is CIGARS!! But which of the LEs?

On paper all three look fantastic and my heart is telling me to get the Montecristo. My worry is that profile-wise it might be too similair to the Sublime from 2008!?!?

Who has tried all three and what would they recommend

    2010 - Edici?n Limitada Limited Edition Series
    1- Serie D Especial Gorditos 50 x 141 (5.6") Robusto Extra

    2 - Grand Edmundo Ca?onazo 52 x 150 (5.9") Robusto Extra

    3 - Short Robusto T Short del Valle 50 x 102 (4.0") Petit Robusto - T

Images from Trev's wonderful site HERE - check it out!! You'll stay forever

I have yet to try any but will be putting down the Monte's and maybe the Party's. Love the Trini's but too short for me ...a bit of a tease IMHO.

This may sound a bit strange (not having tasted them yet) but it is hard to call such young sticks and as we have seen smoking is a bit hit and miss.

        hey steve,
i've tried the trinidad and the partagas........not had the pleasure of the monte yet!!! however, i would strongly recommend the partagas over the others!!! why? here's my thinking!!!!

        1. you can't argue with the quality of the partagas range!!!! it's a great size, tastes fantastic, looks stunning!!!
        2. the trinidad is way too small and way too expensive!!!! nuff said!!!!
        3. i'm not a great fan of montecristo, but what is consistent with them is their inconsistency, quality ways!!! plus, for nearly the same money you could have 10 siglo 6's, which i've found to be very consistent........

why take a chance on the others when we have a clear winner with the partagas serie d especial...........

Trini is great but not much cigar for the money. Monte was nice but having tried both I would rather have the wide Churchill if I need my mouth stretching. Have a Partagas at home but yet to fire him up so can't comment.

Not sure any of that helps!!

Ive not tried any yet but the Partagas is first on my list. Ive read the monte is just a big edmundo and the trini is too expensive for me for such a small smoke...

You guys are putting into words most of what I'm thinking.

For just a little bit more I could get a box of 25 Edmundos......

Monkey - you're right about them being too new. They'll probably only taste quite good at the moment but in a year or so will vastly improve as I witnessed with the Partagas D5...a dog on release but awesome now

Senor R - the Trini is ridiculously small...a tease as Monkey says

Maybe I'll just sit them out for now.....but what to spend my dosh on?

For what it's worth Stevieboy I have actually smoked all three and for me (personally) the Montecristo was by far and a way the best.

Nothing like the Sublime from '08, so flavourful, with dark chocolate and espresso coffee being the predominant ones...

Truthfully though, you could get a box of any of these, because in a year or so they're all gonna be great, IMHO...

                Cheers, HabanoSy

I have to admit to not having smoked either of these legendary smokes ( ); however, that is certainly the impression which I have been given by my evenings spent trawling review websites and the like... Yes, I'm a review fiend, always wanting to find out what I should buy next. This might be if for me, if I can justify the silly-money.

I've only had the Trinidad's and thoroughly enjoyed them to the point that I would purchase another box to lay down. In fact I'd probably purchase another box or two of each to lay down based on what I've read...

Sy - are they better than current production Edmundos? If they're really just a big Edmundo then they're not really worth the extra I reckon

                        Um...!!!

I would say, yes. They are...

In essence I suppose they are just a big Edmundo, hence the name...

The blend is different though from the production Edmundo and I think you can tell the difference...

                        It's a difficult one...

If you do not like/think much of the Montecristo taste profile and it has too be something extra special for you to go WOW (take the '08 Sublime, some people rave about it, others just think it's okay...!!!) then maybe you should be looking more towards the Partagas...

                        Hope this helps...

I'm a big Monte fan I utterly love the Sublime! I've worked through boxes already and I've cracked open a third...rivals the Cohiba Sublime IMO (Think I've just decided on what I'm having tonight )

I've got the Partagas, bought it at the Cain lanch on a reccomendation that it smokes great without much age. Still not had a chance to light it up yet.
