  • Partagas Salomones question for the experts

Can anyone shine in on some Salomones information? I've just got 2 boxes of ten. In one of the boxes the Salomones appears to be boxed pressed
Has anyone else seen this? Both from 09.
any info would be appreciated. Hope I wasn't a fraud victim
    Thanks

    Any pics available wingman...!?!

I once had a box of Cuaba Salomones that were so tightly packed into the box that they took on a 'slightly' box pressed appearence, is this the case with the Partys...!?!

Are there any other differences between the two boxes apart from this...!?!

    Cheers, HabanoSy

Would be surprised to see fake Salomones, bit of a challenging stick to roll. Pics please.

                @ HabanoSy
These appear a bit more than slightly squared. I guess they were packed in pretty tight compared to the other box. Nice looking sticks. I just didn't think Cubans made a boxed pressed vitola
The box lid and bottom could explain the flat top and bottom but it also appears the side of the cigar is squared edged as well....

I've only had one box, and the stick were kind of loose in the box and had bit of room to move. Can't comment on the box pressed ones.

Both my boxes haven't got the square edge.

I'd imagine you've just got a bad box, which got pressed severely for some reason.

Exactly. And what sort of faker having gone to all the trouble of getting that shape correct is then going to press it.

I think what you might be looking at Tom is Cuba's answer to what happens when the box-makers f**k up and the inside measurement on a batch is a bit too small or out of square.

smoke one from each box. If they taste the same you've either got two boxes of good'uns or two fakes!

Try fitting the pressed ones into the other box & see how they fit. I they have plently of room in there, then a smaller box sounds the cause. I wouldn't worry too much though, unlikely to be fakes & many Havanas are box pressed & smoke fine. Asthetically I prefer cab's becaudse there not pressed but I doubt it really affects the draw.

Some very good points you guys. I think I might wait a while and try smoking one. I will check the inside dimensions on the box as well.

One other interesting note is the LCDH bands are different. Much larger and the gold ink fills between the leafs were the other bands have red ink between the leafs
