as a huge partagas fan ive been curious for quite some time about the presidente and would love to know what the forum members think of these has anybody any experience with these?
ive noticed on another forum of these being compared with the salomone, which by the way i find is an incredible smoke, purely on there construction the presidente being a smaller version of the salomone i have a box of the salomone and love them but im curious about the presidente is it worth investing in a box of these?

Only had one, but enjoyed it... not sure how much that helps.

I traded a couple of these with Ss, although have only smoked one Keith. I think they were '01/'03 maybe. I love the vitola, and flavour was good. However, I was left wanting a bit wee more in the taste department as they had mellowed (arguably very well) with age. Reading about them, they can have quite a kick whilst more juvenile, although it's recommended getting three or fours years on them.

I'm sure others will chip in soon.

Perhaps put the feelers out for a trade on a few?

      EDIT:
This is what Richard has to say...

"One of the lesser known Figurados coming out of Havana, due to its rather uncontrollable nature. Presidentes is wild, rather like a rodeo horse, a Partagas gifted with unpredictable power that slaloms throughout the course of your smoke, sometimes to the detriment of the taste! An overall flavour of earthiness is interrupted, sporadically, by vague notions of wood. However the stick is always a pleasure to the eye! "

One of my "go-to" smokes. I always have a box on the go. I don't think you can really compare them to the Salamones -they are really not just a "smaller version" but an older shape that was briefly discontinued then brought back by popular demand. Always a tasty and satisfying smoke.

I smoked one at a herf in Dublin and was amazed by the amount of smoke and strength. Even my fellow herfers were amazed at the cloud that surrounded me!

Did a share a few years ago on another forum and have smoked them all. Not a smoke that gets a lot of exposure, and not my favoutite shape, but dont think I have ever had a bad experience from the fairly aged sticks I have tried.

Also like these, did a split with Seriesteve a few years back and they are a good smoke, need to be carefully looked after, as they seemed prone to uneven burn issues - perhaps due to the shape.

Certainly worth trying a few singles if you like Partagas.
