    Well tonight is the Behike tasting in Teddington. Apparently Ajay is the first retailer in the world to have publicly available stock, a week ahead everybody else. Upon my arrival the boxes looked comical being stacked so high. I will write more after the smoking session but here are some pictures I just took for everybody to see before the part on Wednesday, for those attending anyway.

    A quick further note, a couple of other cigars have come out and I am busy trying lots today. The 2009 - Edici?n Regional Switzerland - Poderosos is AMAZING. It tastes AGED, way older than a 2009 cigar should.

    The 2008 - Edici?n Regional China - Armon?as is also a real find, what a unique cigar!

    Ajay also has sourced several entire boxes of the 2008 - Edici?n Regional Lebanon - Phoenicios, I am thrilled. After my first unimpressive experience with this cigar I have become a total convert and now rate this in my top five all time cigars. Now who was it I promised to tell if he got more in......?

                Evening still going on.....

                Ajay Patel is the proprietor of La Casa Del Habano, Teddington, the UK branch of the Cuban "franchise", others can fill you in but its my number one cigar place in the UK, IMHO.

                Word of advice for potential Behike smokers, when you cut the cigar take less off than you would on a normal cigar, they appear to have a "shallow" cap to me and if you cut as much as you would a typical cigar you may find you remove the entire cap leaf and your cigar starts to unravel on you.

                  Yeesh if Id just spent ?45 on a cigar and it started to unravel on me, I would not be a happy bunny!

                  Those are some stunningly beautiful cigars, I'm undecided on whether I want to look at it or smoke it!

                          I am now at work, I am very tired, oh so very, very tired.

                          Two hours sleep.

                          The night went on the latest I have ever know. A chap from the an embassy who has become a regular was smoking very rare sticks. A good mix of all three BHK's got put to the flame and universally loved. The 56 got a full thumbs up unlike on previous occasions but then its all to personal taste and mood. The 54 looks the winner to me so far. The 52 I thought would be the winner, the size best suited to the tobacco blend but the extra length of the 54 is more satisfying, out of the three the 54 has it for me.

                          The real shock of the night was that Swiss Punch, what an earth shatteringly good smoke, a sublime size cigar. The regional edition band on it was also unique. They appear to have used the 50 gauge RE band from previous Swiss regional releases but since they are clearly not big enough for a sublime size cigar they used a "sliver" of another RE band to cover the exposed white band at the join, sort of a band-bandage, unique in my experience. That information is probably a bit too nerdy though except for hard core collectors, no, that is not I, LOL.

                          If you can try that Chinese Bolivar, do it, utterly unique.
