  • Want to try something different...

So have a bit of money burning a whole in my pocket, and fancy something a little different. I usually smoke a rubusto size cigar as I find these the best size for me. However I fancy something a little thinner.

I have been looking at the following

    Cohiba Panatelas
    Monte Joyitas
    Cohiba Exquisitos

I have favoured the Cohiba in general but recently discovered the monte edmundo so open to everything.
Could I get your opinions on the above or anything else that may fit the bill.

    Cheers

I've tried all of those, and would say IMHO you've missed the best smokers from your list.

    Punch Margaritas
    RA Ramonitas

Both of the Cohiba's I thought were disappointing and a bit bland, The Monte might have been nice had it been smokable .... tight, tight!

That's going up in gauge TJ. The Punch Margaritas only a 26. But is a taste match for both of those.

Mind you, they're really pricey for their size!

TJ - I have a box of secretos in the humi ageing haven't tried them yet, but looking forward to them. The San Cristo looks interesting will probably try one at some point as always looking for that size of cigar but really looking for a nice thin cigar to try. I guess I'm looking for something under a 40 ring.

Tippexx - thanks for the suggestions will look into them both

Under 40 ? ...Montecristo especial is supposed to be good. I liked the Por Laranaga Montecarlo I smoked although it was a tad tight. I really like Cohiba Corona Especiales.

Just been looking at my habanos cigar book and seeing what that had in it that was thin. Looking at what is available, a lot seems to not be available like the Por Laranaga Montecarlo I think it has been said before but I think it a bit sad the thinner stick are not fashionable and production is stopping. However I did stumble across the Hoyo Marie any thoughts on this?

Production on the PL Montecarlo is ongoing. I think in the past it was stopped for a bit, but these are currently produced.

Excellent IMO. But so is the ERdM Demi Tasse and possibly shades the du Marie. But don't under-estimate the little Punch Margo, it's a lovely smoke, just very expensive for it's size.

well yes, but I can't really mention them here
Don't live in the UK, but maybe someone knows where to get them there.

Ok bit the bullet and ordered 5 ErdM Demi sticks as the price of these seemed very reasonable. I will see how I get on with the panatela size and if these are nice may treat myself to a box or two. Also found the another thread asking about the same sizes and Deano Suggested the Hoyo Dauphins so will try to give these a try as well. I'll update you once I have tried them.
