  • opinions on these EL's......

    hey all,
i called into belfast's habanos specialist miss morans today!!!! s**t myself when i saw all the EL's in the singles counter!!!! ended up buying the last 2 HDM regalios EL 2007!!! would like some opinions on these please:
    1. 2008 cuaba piramide & monte sublime (?20 & ?26)
    1. 2007 RYJ escudos & trinidad fundidores (?15 & ?22)
    2. 2006 partagas psd3 & monte robusto (?14 & ?17)
    3. 1998 ryj churchill & HDM churchill (both ?20)

for sentimental celebratory reasons (my son being born on 07.07.07), i would like the 2007's, however, i wouldn't want to buy 'em if they're not that good or you guys don't think they're worth that kind of money!!!

i'd be keen to know what you guys think of the 1998 churchills........

    cheers,

    alex

Only one I've tried was the 2007 RyJ Escudos . To my taste, best cigar I've had ever.

        How About Dem Puros!

Greetings senor senorRobusto. Some interesting choices on your list.

Of course, the Monte Sublime is a big hit on this forum and a favorite of TJ and the Coros. The Trinidads are most excellent puros, though I have not tried the 07 fundidores. I also spotted a full box of '06 Monte Robustos ELs in TJ's humidor, but none of us Coros have tried one yet.

Finally, I find the Cuaba an interesting puro and always pick one up while on travel, but never owned a box, for what it's worth.

Is that all you got, el Perro???

          cheers guys,
i was kinda hoping the monte sublime box split would've happened, no such luck! lol!!! however tj, i will give one a go!!! saying that, i remember someone saying recently they are a bit, well.........hit and miss!!!

major tom, i think you've just convinced me to buy a couple of the ryj escudos next week!!! lol!!!

pedro, cheers for your thoughts on the monte robusto!!!! i do love my robustos, but not totally enamored with montecristos..........saying that, it's an EL, so i really owe it to myself to investigate it!!! lol!!!

what about those 1998 churchills.........any thoughts guys? oh, before i forget, i'm pretty sure there was a 1998 SLR churchill!!!! all around the ?20 mark!!!!

            The Older the Better, IMO.

Well sir, I'd probably spring for the SLR churchill, simply because of the age. I'm not an aficionado when it comes to SLR, but I'd give 'er a go.

I just remembered...I DID smoke the the 06 Monty Robusto EL at the LCDH in Tijuana the year it came out. A mighty fine puro as I recall, so it's likely to be even better after 4 years.

The Trinidad Regios are amazingly good (had one last night). The Monte Sublime is sublime....but one helluva price

The 06 Monte Robusto's rock, they are just coming good (had one on Thursday and it was yummy). They are also rare, doesn't seem to be many about.
