When i first bought a box the draw wasnt great have to say, now they've rested 6 months or so they smoke great.

Being a small vitola that is produced in such high numbers, it gets to be rolled by both experienced and inexperienced rollers. And when the cigars are sorted and boxed you get a bit of both in the same box.

I think sometimes people find the Monte 4 a little unpredictable because, as they sell so fast, it can be difficult to get one with any decent age on it (resevas aside). Young cigars can be a little temperamental and this may affect the perception of this particular vitola in terms of consistency.
Also, the fact that they are available in so many outlets worldwide means the condition of the cigars can vary enormously and this obviously affects the way they smoke too.
It is frustrating when you get a 'plugged' cigar, but I don't think the quality of the No4's production is worse than any other cigar.
It may not be the first cigar I reach for but I have always enjoyed the ones I've smoked.UK Cigar Smokers Club http://www.cigars.co.uk
