Not sure if this is strictly fair because there is quite a price difference.

But. I've just smoked a Monte Esp No2 and thought it was excellent. SerieSteve is I know an advocate of the Party SdC. Which I've never tried.

The sizes are about the same, so in that sense a comparison is ligit.

Over to you Guys. Any thoughts?

Not really had many of the Monte Especial #2s, so can't really compare and contrast.

However, have had lots of all the Party SduCs and the Monte Especials #1 which are the same size as the SduC #1.

The recent Monty Especials#1 are smoking very well in my opinion - probably the (standard production) Monte that I enjoy the most - certainly way ahead of the next best Monte, the #2. But, they've been very variable & I've had some older, truly horrid ones.

In contrast, all the Party SduCs I've ever had (given a year or twos rest) have been consistently good.

So all-in-all, depends on what year/code you're talking about. The recent Especial#1s have outshone the SduC#1s, but then I prefer the #2 and #3s anyhow

I think both lines are among the best Cubans! I usually go for the SdC though because they're cheaper. Their price is completely arbitrary, it's only to do with image and marketing. There's no general quality difference between Montecristo and Partagas
