haha and the pretty large variance in ring gauge in second pic
I think that could just be me having ramped up the images' colours, contrasts and brightnesses which could have made the cigars in lower part of the box look like they have different diameters. I had another quick look now and the ring gauges all look the same.

OK, there are more people posting on this, so I suppose that means there is still time to buy this awesome box of cigars. Again, I have not yet invested the time into reading this thread so if I'm too late I'll be sad. I'll give you $2,000 HK.
The husband of the Cuban family I was staying with got them for me. I thought it was a very trustworthy source as he was a surgeon. Either that wasn't the case or he was being had as well.
I've seen this happen so many times and it's sad because visitors staying with Cuban families seem to think that the average Cuban knows about cigars. The average Cuban knows NOTHING about cigars except that, apparently, tourists are prepared to pay hundreds of CUC for them. Their friends and neighbors will tell them that the tourists are crazy when "tabacos" only cost $1 CUC ($24 CUP) for a whole bundle in any corner tienda. Everybody knows a "biznero" who can get the cigars the tourists want for only a few CUC so the Cuban hosts think they are doing their guests a big favour by saving them a wad-o-money. They don't understand about counterfeiting. If the visitor is lucky, the cigars he gets as a gift or at a low price from the friendly Cubans will actually have a half-decently printed Govt. Tax Seal and even a hologram on the box. It hardly matters when you can take out two boxes without factura and you probably won't get checked anyway.
(Just back from Cuba last week and once again (6th or 7th trip) nobody looked at my cigars or factura.)
A couple of years ago a Danish girl in my Spanish class got a couple of boxes (cheap) from her fiance's (now husband's) family. They were fakes, of course. Was I going to "educate" her? Explain that her family meant well but she should hope to get lucky at the airport? Not me.
Hopefully she got them out of Cuba OK and that some Danish folks got to "enjoy" some "fine Cuban tobacco".
On the other hand...
(in the interests of critical thinking).
How many times have we encountered these dudes (dudettes even) who pick up a couple of boxes of fakes on the street or beach or bar in Cuba, expecting to sell them to gullible cigar smokers or cigar shops to "pay for their trip"?
What I don't like is the people who bring them back & stick them on Ebay to make a quick buck. They have no interest in cigars and are cheating someone who has some interest in smoking a good cigar. There is always a box or two of Cohibas on there.

Agree almost 100%. The "almost" part being, knowing a little about cigars, fakes, con artists etc why would "someone who has an interest in smoking a good cigar" risk buying on fleabay anyway.
If it seems to be too good to be true it probably is.
I know some of you guys could spot a fake at 500yds but I don't have the knowledge and experience. I do however enjoy a decent smoke so I'll stick to the reputable retailers and pay the extra rather than risk a bunch of cheap crap.
I will not be outbid on this once-in-a-llifetime deal.
For a limited time only, I am offering 3,217 Turkmenistani Manats, a used llama brush, and the zircon encrusted Eiffel Tower souvenir I bought in Tiajuana.

Wise words Lionhound. If only all the UKCF members thought along the same lines.

Now Mr Rokkit, you know FULL WELL that the nurses have told you not to get yourself worked up over these seegars of yours.
Settle yourself down, we don't want to have to get the special chair out again now, do we?
I think its unfair that everyones taking the mickey out of Bruno, the forum members should be helping to educate him about cigars etc, but instead we treat him like a mindless 1 year old trying to flog something thats out of his depth or understanding.. Now children stop this onslaught immediatley...
Bruno ignore them all.. and let me have them for free !! i will pay the postage

Now now. He's a big boy. If he wants to sell these for $1000, whether he knows that's an awesome deal or not, I'm going to take him up on it. Again, I have not invested the time in reading beyond eggopp's post, but I'm assuming I can post this here...
