  • RyJ Cazadores

So I've smoked some Short Churchills and a Duke, and they both seemed to have this floral taste/aroma going on. Is this the 'RyJ taste' and should I expect the Cazadores to have that too?

I'd like to give this powerhouse a go but I won't bother if it has that...

My experience of RyJ is more woody and leafy-mold than floral.. but i quite like that, ive smoked the churchills, the cazadores, numbers 1,2 & 3.

I guess its down to individual taste buds.

I would say the Cazadores have a woodsy/leathery flavor to them. Quite different from the Short Churchills and the Duke IMO.

Cazadores remind me of twigletts when I smoke them, all marmitey and salty

Sounds like they are worth a go then. PM sent back Rog, though I know you know as you've replied.
              Thanks folks!

                IMO-

They've definitely got the RyJ savouriness to them, but are somehow richer and stronger.

Having said that the tannins settle down quickly, so that after a year they're a pretty delicious rounded smoke and can be really, really good.

Just smoking one now, nicely woody, and strong enough so I wont want another tonight. Its burning very well considering it has some humi damage.

Was very surprised recently to read that this is the second biggest selling Cuban cigar globally (only beaten by the Monte No4).

You're mistaking: the JL Piedra Cazador is the 2nd biggest selling cuban, NOT the RyJ Cazador?

Not according to the most recent figures from Habanos SA. The JLP Cazadores was below the same brand's Cremas .
