My money is on Pedro Han (2-1), in fact he's probably there and getting stuck in!
LOL. Pedro Han has probably done a box by now.

I was in the Partigas factory a last week on holiday in Cuba and the tour guide made reference to the cohiba behike being made at that factory and a price of about 1500-2000 euros a box. not sure if this was correct or not but he was saying they are going to be very exclusive to the top end market where places like Spain, France, and Canada will get the majority.

            From that Newsweek article:

"The first handmade postrevolution cigars containing medio tiempo will make their debut next month, with the launch of the hefty Cohiba Behike"

Any idea what they have been doing with the "medio tempo" in the meantime?

My customs that Alfredo rolled years ago contained 1/2 leaf of MT.
It is my belief (no way to back this up). That this leaf is reserved for all of the Limited Ed humidors that come out. Again just a guess but you can bet your ass that they are not just putting it in regular production sticks and they sure as hell aren't just throwing it away lol. But your guess is as good as mine as where it has been going and where it will go in the future.

That is explained in the article: the top two leaves from a semi-mythical variety of tobacco plant.

Medio tempo makes a nice filigree on an upper story balustrade. It is also used, in ground form, in vichyssoise.

You see, as soon as the Rocket Man steps up we get the real details here.

I also found it on Wikipedia where it says: Tobacco leaf only grown in very small area North of Trinidad (Cuba). Always planted 4 days before full moon and fertilized with hamster droppings. Third leaf from the bottom of the plant used for cigars, all others discarded.

You know Wikipedia, you can believe it if you like!

I'm taking that with a pinch of salt, based on my own previous research... There was clearly a shabby piece of research done by the wiki contributor. I'd always been under the impression that it was Cuban Hutia droppings that were used as fertilizer.
