  • New Cohiba Behike line

    Some info CLICK HERE

Looks like HSA is claiming some sort of 'special' and or 'rare' tobacco that these are going to be rolled with. It's called Medio Tiempo. Maybe it has only been reserved for humidor style cigars in the past? I dunno? From the sound of it not every plant has these leafs and overall cigar quantity will be limited = big coin lol. They sure do look nice. Guess we will all see what the people at this years festival think of the cigar (if they hand them out).

    Great find mikes

I've been wondering what the Cohiba marketing boys were going to come up with for these babies

I just hope that the product is as good as the marketing hype would have us believe.

Damn, those boxes sure do look funky. All I need to know now is: are they any good, when are they available, and, how stratospherically expensive are they?

A quote from a recent 'Newsweek' article about these very leaves:

'medio tiempo. In the Cuban cigar industry, this refers to a pair of small leaves at the very top of the tobacco plant?and not just any tobacco plant, but a talismanic, semimythical variety that in the past was used only occasionally'

The article can be read here: http://www.newsweek.com/id/230772

P.S. This is what the guy who sampled them had to say about the Behikes:

The surprise is that for all medio tiempo's much-vaunted strength, this was not an overpowering cigar; instead it had all those wine-tastery notes of cedar wood and vanilla, delivering its subtle flavors with a delicious rounded creaminess. The Cohiba Behike will be made in very small numbers, and for aficionados of the Havana cigar it will deliver an almost religious experience. So the most fitting description I can find is in the Old Testament Book of Judges, which perfectly sums up the appeal of the Behike with the words "Out of the strong came forth sweetness."

Expensive enough to be totally out of my league I bet.

I saw this last night on the Habanos SA web site.. Maybe I've already been sucked in by the hype but I want some! Wonder how much they'll retail for?

i reckon 40-50 a stick for the BHK 56s, ?400-500 for a box of ten? you know they'll charge a lot more than siglo range but I hope they'll be lower than the reserva...

I heard it is simply a blend that mixes the Siglo with the Maduro ranges and that UK prices should not be silly (a bit above current pricing). So lets hope they don't get greedy.

Thanks Dave, I kept getting a broken link when I tried to find it via Google.

Mind you now I found it I sort of wish I hadn't. I'm sitting here in freezing cold England thinking about all the friends and contacts who are having such a great time in Cuba right now.

and to top it all I just discovered that you can go fly fishing for bone fish in Cuba!!

                      Basta!!!!!!!

2000-1 against it being the Mexican. He will want to lay it down for 5 years minimum.

My money is on Pedro Han (2-1), in fact he's probably there and getting stuck in!
