  • WOW, not again! Maduro 5

Okay, I feel like I am just having the worst case of luck
Just got my second box of Magicos and they are just horrible looking
The ring size's are all over the place and even a big difference in length.
Needless to say I emailed the source to get their excuse for the matter.
Has QC gone on vacation? And yes the box was open and inspected.

your're right they look horrible, that 3rd pic looks like an old mans bent willy. they actually look fatter underneath the band than the parts not restricted by the band.
I started out with nothing and i've still got most of it left - Seasick Steve

Cigars are handmade, in my opinion you will always get this with something that is handcrafted . As long as the look great (wrapper wise) and taste great then i would be happy.

But as the customer you have a right to be happy with your purchase, keep us informed of the suppliers response

Check out the FOH guys comments from 7 minutes onwards on this video.

On a beautiful summer's afternoon Ken and Rob sit down to review a controversial cigar. The Cohiba Esplendido always falls short for Rob, however Ken thinks...

I do agree with that 3rd pic though, thats nasty

You are having some bad luck, mate!

The size difference is not uncommon. I have received boxes with varying ring sizes as well.

The last one looks a fright. I would certainly not be happy, especially for what they cost.

Thanksfor the continued support. No reply from the source yet but will keep you guys posted
I went ahead and scarfed one down. Burned well but a little different in flavor compared to the others I've had.
            The saga continues....

I feel your pain. But if they are the real deal who gives a Frig.
That shouldn't effect the smoke . JMHO Man made in Cuba !
Just because they don't look pretty don't make the taste ugly.
Send them to the G-Man he'll burn them for you ! At no cost LMAO

That's funny, I actually watched that video a few days ago but didn't remember much of it due to the drinking involved...

Most Cubans have some variance, hand made and all. As long as they are genuine and in one piece I wouldn't worry about a mil or two here or there. And yes, there QC is rubbish!

Might have been best just to have given them a day or three to settle down and maybe a bit of time for your supplier to get back to you.

But I understand how you must feel pretty pissed-off ..... we all want our stuff to not only taste good but to look good too ..... and to be honest it's what I would expect from Cohiba.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

I have never found the Maduro 5 to be the best looking cigar. Due to the extra ageing of the wrapper leaf theyoften have a slightly 'dry' appearance and are notoriously difficult to work with. That said, your third picture reminds me of a cigar taken from the outside of a cabinet - one that has been bound a little too enthusiastically.

I'd be more concerned with the fact you say it tastes different from the others you have smoked...

Okay, this is what they have responded with
"All our cigars are purchased from Pacific but they don?t put the stickers on normal stock only stock sold in the our stores or vintage boxes? Unfortunately we see a range of cigars these days that are exactly like this but you have to expect a variance with handmade cigars? we get boxes that have different colored wrappers in the same box, some with no bands on one half and bands on the other, you name it we see everything.. Let the cigars rest and see how they smoke"
So I will take them for what they are, The one I smoked may have a bit of due to theshock of shipping. I'll let them rest a while. I may not purchase from them anymore though.

PS If anyone is willing to share a new source for me that includes the bar code (not razored off) on the warranty seal and with decent prices please feel free to PM me I would be willing to send a few samples of my own
                        Thanks
