RASS maybe but only 'cos you already have D4s otherwise I'd say P2 everytime - I, for one, don't find them overhyped - absolutely love them.

I've never been too bothered about the JL2s...

From what you have posted I would go with the RASS and the Partgas P2's

I have had that acrid harshness that you mention in some of the younger RASS that I have smoked in the past. But have had good luck luck with the late 07's and early 08's I've sampled recently.

I just ordered what will most likely be an early 08 box (fingers crossed). I have been wanting to get the P2, but given that I have the shorts and D4's right now, I figured it's time to branch out a bit.

With the shorts and the D4's I can see why you would want to branch out a bit. Just keep the P2's in mind as they are one of the better current production pyramids out there right now.

Some of the guys here have mentioned the Bolivar Royal Coronas. This would be another cigar that I would seriously consider as well. But I'm partial to Bolivars and Partagas.

Awesome advice all around--I've added both to my list. When I run out of the D4's, I'm going for the P2's, particularly because I love the pyramid shape and, though I really enjoy the Monte 2's, want something stronger and more consistent.

                      Well,
I had myself a sit-down with one of these sticks yesterday, and let me say that the advice I got was indeed sage. These things are powerhouses: the smoke is thick, the flavor rich, peppery and complex, and the thing sticks with you well after you're done. The only downside was a bit of an uneven burn, but it righted itself about half way through.

Fantastic cigar and a great addition to the collection. Thanks for all of your input!

Glad to hear you enjoy the RASS. They are one of the Classic Cuban cigars out there IMO.

PS: What boxcode and date did you get?

I thought it was April, but in fact they are March 08--a good mistake to make.

Apologies: box code is TEB--any ideas about what that means?

It's the factory where they were made, but who knows which one that is...

I'm not 100% certain, Cuba being Cuba, but I believe RASS are still rolled in the Partag?s factory.
                                What would Lemmy do?
