Hi guys. I am new to this so forgive me if i come across like a total idiot. I always stick to smoking Montecristo and Cohiba these days after trying many cigars over the years and i know this is going to sound crazy but i have never been a big fan of Partagas! I like smokes like Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios and so on but i saw these Australian guys on you tube the other night who review tons of cigars and they banged on about aged Partagas series D no.4s being the best cigar they had smoked in a long time. Iwould realy like some input from you guys, are they a good cigar? Thanks in advance Guys.

Best thing is just to try lots of singles. You may not like the D4. I don't love them as much as a lot of people here. I'd definitely recommend trying more from Bolivar, Ramon Allones, Vegas Robaina and Saint Luis Rey though.Last edited by daverave999; 21-01-2010, 10:57 AM.

I have actually read what you said now.
You may find your tastes change. I know mine do very quickly, so those cigars you tried over the years and disappointed you, may well be an incredible experience for you now.
For this reason I still go back to things (cigars, drinks, food) that I believe I don't like.

I do like the D4 but far prefer the partagas P2. and again over that the partagas piramide EL 2000s are freekin beautiful.
singles you definitely have to try:
hoyo de monterrey epicure 2 (robusto)
Ramon Allones specially selected (robusto)
juan lopez no. 2 (robusto)
vegas robaina famosos (robusto)
bolivar belicosos finos (piramide)
partagas p2 (piramide)
and thrown in for good measure partagas lusitania (prominente - big bastard)

Not quite
Nope, sorry Nic. The literal translation of "prominente" is defined as: A firm erection resulting from the sight of a promiscuous, naked llama with long lean shanks and a gracefully curving neck, flaring nostrils, and those enticing twitchy ears... " Ahhh... errrrr... never mind.Originally posted by nicwing View PostIs that 'big bastard' the literal translation Lasc? Do you know I have learnt something else here today!rokkitsci

Rubbing both hands over knees whilst rocking slowly backwards and forwards, mumbling 'oh yeah baby, toss that shaggy mane for daddy' repeatedly!Originally posted by rokkitsci View PostThe literal translation of "prominente" is defined as: A firm erection resulting from the sight of a promiscuous, naked llama with long lean shanks and a gracefully curving neck, flaring nostrils, and those enticing twitchy ears...
