Hi guys. I am new to this so forgive me if i come across like a total idiot. I always stick to smoking Montecristo and Cohiba these days after trying many cigars over the years and i know this is going to sound crazy but i have never been a big fan of Partagas! I like smokes like Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios and so on but i saw these Australian guys on you tube the other night who review tons of cigars and they banged on about aged Partagas series D no.4s being the best cigar they had smoked in a long time. Iwould realy like some input from you guys, are they a good cigar? Thanks in advance Guys.

Hey Falcon,

The D4s should be a taple stick in anyone's, who likes CCs, humidor. They are fine.

Perhaps you should pop into the newbie greets section and get some back

Best thing is just to try lots of singles. You may not like the D4. I don't love them as much as a lot of people here. I'd definitely recommend trying more from Bolivar, Ramon Allones, Vegas Robaina and Saint Luis Rey though.

You may find your tastes change. I know mine do very quickly, so those cigars you tried over the years and disappointed you, may well be an incredible experience for you now.

For this reason I still go back to things (cigars, drinks, food) that I believe I don't like.

I do like the D4 but far prefer the partagas P2. and again over that the partagas piramide EL 2000s are freekin beautiful.

daverave speaks but the truth. Tastes change, and cigars should be revisited every once in a while.

Having said that- I've never been big on them either. For me the posher Partagas have always needed a lot of age. Less expensive sticks can be good, but construction is a bit variable.
