Muchachos! There's a lot or pressure around these and other parts to enjoy the Juan Lopez line, especially the #2.
Hello! My name is BJ, BJCoro, and I am el hermano peque?o of TJ, TJCoro. Now, not to be a contrarian, but I have a 2+ year-old box of JL2s resting comfortably in TJ's massive unit, most of which have been smoked, and for my taste, they're okay....not a bad smoke, but not the epitome of the finest puros others profess.
No doubt the JL is an excellent puro, based on the raving reviews here and elsewhere, but it's not for everyone. So if you try one and enjoy it -GREAT! But if you find it's not your...how you say....cup of tea. Then say so. Don't be pushed around by some of the elders who occasionally frequent these parts (i.e. , ) to say otherwise.
Thanks for reading my post. First time poster, long time lurker.
(Hurumph!) You wouldn't know a fine poro chicho BJ, if it bit you in your ass! BTW...aren't you supposed to be on a so-called definitive journey?
Hey el Perro!. Are you any less of an Hombre if you don't rave about the JL2?
(Hurumph!) Yes, virgin boy!

Anyone got an opinion on whether the No.1 or the No. 2 is better? Much difference?
Not really difference, but a difference however; for my taste, the No.1 is more flowery, and higher pitched (if that makes sense), thus needs a longer maturation; the No.2 is more woodsy and "toasted" (empyreumatic flavors).
If I were forced to choose I'd opt for the No.2 but I love both.
Yes def more flower in jl1. Also really creamy in the aged ones I've had. Different smokes to my taste, but the JL1 for me tries to do things that other cubans do better but the JL2 never disappoints
