Just smoked one of the LE tinned mini's.

Differences to standard packs:-

Darker wrapper with an irregular construction, they look a bit like Western movie cheroots.

Aroma is there when you open the tin, this might just be because of the density of the packing.

Taste is a lot sweeter and richer than the regular production. The smoke is tangy and pleasant and the aftertaste lingers.

The smoke time is a bit longer than usual. I timed the smoke at 8 mins, but I did smoke it to point where there wasn't much left to hold, as I was really, really enjoying it.

All round it was the best mini I have ever smoked and to be honest I can't see this tin lasting very long.

Mini marks: (even though I know most of you blokes don't and will never smoke them) 10

Nice review and making me think that maybe I should try some of the mini size, always shied away from them in the past as I thought they would be too dull

The standard Cohiba mini's (which I get from Waitrose) are fine .... the LE's are in a different league. I just hope they bring whatever it is they've done into the regular production.

they might just suprise you CJ ..... they do 5 or 6 Cuban tubos. At about a quid per tube cheaper than anywhere else.

Recieved these today. Haven't smoked one yet but had a really fun time scrubbing the two anti-smoking stickers off the tin with a sponge and washing up liquid. They're not the easily removable kind so I guess the one they also stuck on the box the tin came in will have to stay put.

This isn't a ?5 packet of fags, wtf are they thinking?

I know what you're saying, mine arrived this morning.

They already have a sticker on the box, why on Earth did they have to slap one on the tin???


I know these are the same as the minis that come boxed, but for some reason these seem slightly better

Removing the stickers

Use lighter fuel. Not Swan or Nafta ..... only Ronsonol, it comes in a yellow tin with a big red flame graphic, has a filling nozzle and is sold in supermarkets for about 60p.

1) Remove the cigars from the tin or from any card packet.
2) Liberally cover the lable with the fuel and allow to soak in.
3) Using a finger-nail or blunt side of a craft knife gently raise one corner.
4) With the corner raised, gently apply fuel so that it's now running under the label.
5) As the adhesive softens, gently pull the label away while repeating step 4 as necessary.
6) With the label removed there will be a tacky, adhesive residue. Apply more fuel to the residue and using a clean tissue wipe away until gone. Repeat till totally clean and no stickiness remains.
7) Allow all the fumes from the fuel to dissipate (Doesn't take long, and goes completely, but goes off quicker if the job is done outside or in a conservatory).
8) Return cigars to tin or pack.

NOTE: Removing labels from card packs is the more difficult especially if the label has been on for some time and the adhesive is fully cured and can result in the lifting of some surface ink from the pack.
Cleaning labels from tins is much easier as the surface is non-porous.

Another idea may be to use a hair-dryer to gently heat the label (I have done this successfully a few times). The tricky bit is not leaving the glue behind.

Agreed .... couldn't leave it on either.

On dress boxes lifting the labels is likely to lift and tear away the dress paper too .... and, I don't really know what would happen if the fuel impregnated the cedar .... and don't want to find out!
