Since my football team (Alabama) is playing in the big game tonight i plan on breaking out a bottle of Blanc DE Blancs.I wonder what you guys would pair with that cigar wise?

Dom Perignon & (Cuban) Davidoff is a classic combo.

I've tried both once, but not at thue same time.

      Hi J

I 'nicked' this from the Beverly Hills Cigar Club website for some ideas this Christmas, but can also recommend the Trinidad Fundadore as one that pairs well (offered by one of the more famous champagne houses to accompany their wines at a launch party I had the good fortune to attend).
      1. Louis Roederer Cristal Brut '02 paired with Goldwin LOUIXS Rosado. The 2002 Louis Roederer Cristal has a Wine Enthusiast rating of 98 and retails for $299. The LOUIXS cigar is from a rare Nicaraguan Rosado leaf and provides two hours of smoking. It sells for $50.
      2. Perrier Jouet Blanc de Blanc Flower Bottle '99 with Arturo Fuente Opus X Perfecxion. The '99 Perrier Jouet has a Wine Spectator rating of 90. $279.99. The Opus X is one of the rarest and highest rated brands in the world. $40.
      3. Moet & Chandon Champagne Brut Rose Imperial with Padron Anniversary 1964 series "A". The Moet & Chandon, with a Wine Spectator rating of 91, retails for $69.99. The box-pressed cigar offers an even burn with nutty and spicy flavors for $32.
      4. Bollinger Champagne Special Cuvee with Davidoff Zino Platinum Crown Series Rocket. The Bollinger with a Wine Spectator rating of 93, sells for $59.99. The cigar is a thick torpedo - a light, mild- to medium-bodied cigar at $30.
      5. Piper Heidsieck Champagne Brut '98 with Montecristo White Churchill. The elegant champagne, with notes of tobacco and leather, has a Wine Spectator rating of 92 and sells for $59.99. It pairs with the Montecristo white cigar, which is creamy, mild, and smooth. $10.
      6. Domaine Carneros Brut Rose with Ashton Virgin Sun Grown Illusion. A top choice by Connoisseurs Guide, the NV Dom Carneros Brut Rose Cuvee de la Pompadour celebrates the life and times of Madame de Pompadour (the great courtesan and mistress of Louis XV) who is credited with introducing champagne to the court. $45. The Ashton is a thin, pressed cigar that is dark and oily. $9.
      7. Deutz Champagne Brut Classic with Macanudo 1968 Toro. This non-vintage champagne has a Wine Enthusiast rating of 93. $39.99. The Toro is dark with lots of cedar flavors and sells for $9.50.
      8. Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label with Rocky Patel Decade The Forty Six. Clicquot's signature non-vintage Brut has a persistent sparkle and elegance for $41.99. The cigar is short and box-pressed, spicy and meaty with sweet, woody notes and a coffee bean finish. $8.
      9. Chandon Sparkling Pinot Noir Brut Reserve with CAO LX2 Toro. Wine Enthusiast called this vintage "one of the best Chandon bubblies," and gave it a 93 rating. $21.99. The CAO is a dark, solidly rolled cigar for $7.25.
      10. Mumm Napa Valley Sparkling Wine Cuvee M with Don Tomas Cameroon Perfect 1. This is one of California's best sparkling wines. It won two gold medals at the 2009 San Francisco International Wine Competition. $18.99. This perfect has an oily wrapper, draws well and has hints of sour cherries. $6.90.

Well .... an old sock would do me as long as Liverpool were winning. But I've already made my choice for our (Englands) World Cup games .... Cuaba Diademas, that should put the sparkle in me Krug!

Can't take any cigar/champagne list seriously if it doesn't include Pol Roger (Sir Winston Churchill's favourite Champagne), I would pair it with a Cohiba Siglo IV for a perfect evening.

          Getting thirsty now.

We have a rule in our house, have had since we got married, that there is always a bottle of Champagne in the fridge.

Don't drink a lot, it's just there is always one there when you feel the need.

Couldn't agree more. There's a rather fine hotel in Edinburgh that leaves one in your room in an ice bucket every night.
Also, no mention of Ruinart, Dom Perignon, Bolinger or, the aforementioned Krug, all of whom produce outstanding fizz.

This 'Beverly' woman needs to broaden her horizons.

Perhaps we should start a political party to have cigars and champagne made available on the NHS? Who's with me?

Cigars and Champagne/sparkling wine is a classic combination. For a specific pairing recommendation, it would help to know what champagne you're looking at. However, I would say any Cohiba or ERDM with a few years of age should fit the bill.

Only one choice: It's gotta be the El Fuma del Suomi Ballaboosta Elegante Culebra with the fermented Turkmenistani llama intestine wrapper:

                  (Sorry. I'm a UF fan.)

I prefer a cheque book & pen with my Blanc DE Blancs

Although Krug is excellent (especially the 96 clos d'Ambonnay ), it's hardly an everyday champagne!, a Pol Roger vintage rose with an aged ERDM Demi-Tasse is a nice pairing I've done a few times and would recommend....

Ah...Champers...my favourite drink...along with cognac and Mojito. These habits are costing me a fortune.
To be honest I'd never thought of pairing Champagne and cigars before. Defo have to try this now. Had a '97 Cristal and '96 Dom Perignon sat on my wine rack for a couple of years now...hmmmm

Tried moet, crystal, dom P, krug and a bunch of others from various years...dont care too much for them. not my cup o tea im afraid.

The hotel down the road used to serve this pink champagne, very sweet! looked a bit bent but tasted the business!
