cuban prices

hello - I'd appreciate it if any of you could help:

a friend of mine is travelling to Cuba this weekend and has offered to bring me back some cigars.

I usually smoke coronas or roubstos and my question is, approximately how much would a box of either of these vitolas cost from one of the factories in Havana.

That depends on the make, but about a third to a quarter of British prices.

I for instance got 25 HdM no.2 for about ?80 - over here they'd be ?350ish

Patrick, try to impress the importance of buying them from an official outlet, such as a La Casa Del Habanos, or a factory outlet: there's heaps of fakes around

Fo sho.....don't let your mate buy them from street vendors/bars/factory workers etc as they will be almost 100% guaranteed to be fakes

The prices of the boxes I brought back were right in the money.

Oh yeah, ask your friend, I mean INSIST that he brings back the receipt. In spanish it's "la cuenta"

Marty`s mix is an ideal guide, although some of the prices in relation to the likes of Cohiba and Trinidad are a little off.From what I saw these brands did tend to be more pricey than stated.

You need to ask for a "factura" if you are taking out more than 2 boxes of cigars

Less than that and you don't need it

You can also take out 20 singles without a receipt but no more

Anywhere for cigars other than official/ LCDH shops are fakes

Epi 2's are ?289 in the UK
