All Bolivars age extremely well, especially Gold Medals, Coronas Extra and Lonsdale's, others that you might like to investigate are Saint Luis Rey DC's (regarded as the best DC on the market for ageing) The Vegas Robainer Don Alejandro and Unicos are also well regarded with age, although I have yet to try them with much age personally.

Partagas Lonsdale's, all the serie du connaisseur's and the shorts age very well, as do Punch Royal Selection 11 and Super Selection No. 1, the PSS No. 2 is said to be too young with less than 20 years and fabulous with 25 years plus! Ramon Allones Gigantes are great with plus 10 years as are the 898 Cabinet Selection Varnished. El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme are nicer with at least 7/8 years and the Demi tasse are said to be great 15/20 years old, not tried these but have some on the way, the Taino's are another 20/25 year gem (MRN).

Others that I am going to age also include La Gloria Cubana Medaile D'or No.1, Sancho Panza Corona Gigantes, RASS, and Romero y Julieta Cazadores. Montecristo Sublimes and Hoyo Epicure Especials. I was aging some Partagas Astoria's but have smoked them all

These with the one's others have been suggested should give quite a few to make a list from...

cheers for the lengthy recommendations AC!
i tried a single bolivar gigantes aged (from 97 i believe) yesterday and must admit I just don't like the bolivar flavour profile at the moment. Granted it was a dud cigar but i've never been blown a way by a boli,

SLR DCs im definitely gonna look into. after having tried lusitania/punch DC, I LOVE the DC size. ive heard the punch SS 2s are great but cant find them easily. the demi tasse are one of my favourite shorts so eventually ill stash away a couple of cabinets.

right i better start to get this igloodor up and running!

The Punch SS2's were discontinued as were the Black Prince. I haven't seen the SS2's available anywhere for a long time, the BP you might have more luck with, but it is also hard to find, fortunately I have a couple of boxes of the latter. Of the remaining Punch Corona Gordas the Punch Punch and Royal Selection No. 11 are easily found and are both great smokes.

Speaking of discontinued lines, I have some on the way myself, a box each of H. Upmann Lonsdales and ERDM Gran Coronas.

hmm they have a a box of hoyo DCs from '05 at 1001cubs,
they also have a cab of SLR DCs from '05 for a very tempting price...

ive tried the hoyo and love them, but the SLRs ive yet to try... decisions decisions!

I'm normally a fan of aged Bolivars and Partagas but over the past week or so I've had the opportunity to sample some Ramon Allones from my collection and am quite impressed.
Both the Specially Selected from Feb '04 and the now sadly discontinued 8-9-8 from April '03 have retained rich, complex flavours and aromas and have smoother out considerably with time.

              .

Agreed Ramon, the ERDM Gran Coronas are a quality smoke, but as you correctly state, they are not so easy to source now.

Locating and ageing sounds a fun passtime .... though a my age it's more laying in for someone else's inheritance!
If you want to, you can.

Slightly different direction, but FWIW, I have decided to commit to these new Trinidad Robusto Ts. Got one in a sampler, and smoked it right off the truck. Was blown away by how good it was so young. Really do believe that they will be amazing cigars over time. I bought a ton of '98 Fundadores back in the day with your exact strategy in mind, and which I have just started diving into in earnest recently. Great great cigars, but I honestly think these Robusto Ts will surpass them in my esteem. I'm buying at least one box with every order I make, and looking to collect a nice stash of original release boxes to look towards ten years from now. Never know when or if they'll mess up this blend. I'll grab samplers for smoking in the interim, but I'm keeping this first wave of boxes under lock and key and swallowing the key after I hit my target.

Again, one guy's opinion based on only three cigars, and a FNG at that, but FWIW....

Some good recomendations here. I know some of mine have already been mentioned. But here are some of my recomendations for more current stuff. 2007 and newer.

                      SLR DC's
                      Partagas 8-9-8 Varnished
                      H. Upmann Sir Winston (probably my No.1 choice)
                      H. Upmann Magnum 50
                      Por Larranaga Petit Coronas
                      Ramon Allones Specially Selected

I could probably make the list a little longer. But those are the first few that came to mind.
