Apart from the Open range, you can't go wrong with Montecristo at all. The Edmundos are excellent as is the 1-5 range. If you get your hands on the Especials, give them a try. I often find them to be a bit tight but when you get a good one, they are something special.
My absolute favourite is the newish Petit No2. It's often maligned as pointless for being so close in size to the classic No2 but I've bought dozens and every single one has been perfection!
The new 1935 range is of the highest quality especially the Dumas..... Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate

The number 2 and petit edmundo and petit 2 (I think) are lovely, smooth , dark, earthy flavours. The Dantes I really enjoyed, I found it smoother and more chocolately than other montes.
If you can get hold of some Dantes do get some to try, i'm certainly looking out for some more

I've had a few 2010 Monte Opens. I like them. I have a few more left. They are lighter profile.

I did just receive two of each from there new line up, bit spendy for a full box so will give them a review and make my mind up!

I smoked an open eagle earlier this year. They were introduced to be a golf cigar and are pretty meh. I did a review and it was pretty average considering the price!

+1 on the petit no2, and the petit edmundo... but give the PE a good look over and feel if you can. I have a 50:50 hit rate on glorious smokes... and unsmokeable plugged horrors... the good 50% have been just deliccious.

Monte 2 is a classic Cuban cigar, if your new to the range I'd try petite edmundo or petite no2. And as mentioned the 80th is a real treat

The open and eagles seem to be reviewed badly from what I?ve seen and the amount of places with vintage stock of these that they can?t shift would fit with that.
I?ve heard much better things about the linea line and a lot of good things about the 80th anniversary

I love the Monte No 2, but also the No 4 makes a lovely short smoke when there's a little age on it
