First Cohiba to buy

What is a good entry smoke into the world of Cohiba? I normally smoke something with a 50" ring gauge, or for the money could find something better outside of Cuba?

The Lancero is the original and best I would say. Not that I smoke a lot of Cohibas.

you can't beat a good Robusto or Medio Siglo with a bit of age on them - outside of Cuba you would be hard to beat Fuente - something like a Hemingway Short Story or better still Work of Art you could get two or three for the same price as the Cohiba I mentioned

You can rarely go wrong with a Cohiba Robusto... always a delightful smoke particularly with 3-5 years age on it. But do look at Medio Siglo - expensive for the size but approachable young and really really enjoyable. If you have a bit more time a Siglo VI is a joy.. and as with the CoRo a bit of age pays off.

Cohiba often divides because it has a premium price that not everyone wants to pay, or values the differential. I believe they are consistantly nice smokes and 'the price is what the price is' if you like that flavour profile. Other Robustos are more price comparable... so people find their favourite and settle. Cohiba seems to stay separate in their mind becuase of the price premium.

My thoughts too. I have a box of siglo 2s but thought of trading these for a few boxes of Monte 4s. The Cohiba beats it hands down but the price point is always in the back of my mind. But then I think yolo and how lucky I am to have box to smoke when I want, when some BOTLs may not be able to afford them.

Cohibas are, in my opinion, always best with a bit of age on them. I like the siglo 1, media siglo and robusto the ones I favour. But the only bad Cohiba I?ve ever had were the Panatellas

Had a piramides recently. Really nice smoke. But wouldn't pay the premium.

I'd recommend the Cohiba Robusto, the CR or Media Siglo, would be my next ones to try. Sorry McDee but the Lanceros is for experienced Cohiba smokers.

Agree with Steve, right now the Medio Siglo beats the crowd. MAINLY because it smokes great ROTT, all the others require some time down. Alternatively try a Siglo III or IV. The lanceros and esplendidos are not entry cigars (unless cash is the least of your worries)

I?ve only had the Robusto and Medio Siglo (which luckily I have 7 more of [emoji16]) either would be a great choice, as others have said the Robustos need some age whereas the Medio Siglos smoke well young. If you can get an aged stick I?d take the Robusto, if they?re going to be young I?d take the Medio.

CORO with 5 years + on it. But honestly, there is alot out there that is better. Some days its just nice to sit back and be happy with that nice gold band, others you will puke at the price and buy a good RASS instead.

'Better' that is subjective... ! better value... or better quality?!
