Humidity problems, products guaranteed solution?

Hi all, I posted recently about mould issues here: HERE

I was stable at 70% and had mould for the second time, I changed from 69% to 65% Bovida packs and ive only dropped 1% and stable at 69% - its only been a week

I use a cheap digital hygrometer and although I do not doubt it?s pretty accurate, I need a better solution.

I can buy 62% Bovida packs and try again but is there a better way to guarantee or set a perfect climate? Ive looked at the fridge style humidors but have little room.
Any recommends?

Is damp an issue in your house? What's the ambient humidity? It should be around 50-55%.

It will take time for the excess moisture to dissipate, the 65's are also probably full to bursting - when i made the switch I left the lid off the scuba for 12 hours, and I also let the 65's dry out some more and then popped them back in, it took about 3 weeks before it reached a stable 65. Patience I'm afraid

no damp issues. humidors are in a drawer in my living room, id need to check the ambient humidity.

it is getting much colder and wetter outside - maybe thats a factor?

unfortunately, patience is not a virtue i have lol

im willing to quickly buy "something" to cure this but needs to be small. im imagining something like the workings of the fridge style humidor but in a small device that sits inside the humidor - magical nuclear powered fan, heater, humidifier lol. im sure i seen one on star trek?

It will take time to stabilise. Slight aside: Have you put your hygrometer together with a boveda in a lock'n'lock to test its accuracy? This would at least let you know what kind of +/- you can expect.

This could be part of the issue. Although your hygrometer has 'moved' 1%, it could be that it is reading high (so your RH could actually be at 65%, but your hygrometer is reading +5%; in this case, you would always subtract 5 from the reading you are getting.

I'm sure there's a thread here detailing how to calibrate with the salt test; failing that, YouTube should have an instructional.

What he said ^^ bung a boveda in a zip lock bag with your hygrometer and the hygrometer should after 8-12 hours read what the boveda says. If not, you can adjust your hygrometer or just make a note of the difference.

Main thing is to give it time.

Your humi and cigars have a bit more mostuire in there so need it to dry out a little...too speed it up you could leave the lid off for a few hours aday or take out the bovedas for a few days or week checking the humidity and when it hits to 67 66 place the 65 bovedas back in again. And over a week's time it should stablize

Or wrap some plain white kitty litter in a net and let it soak up the moisture. Something like the foot of an old pair of tights will do.
