It's always either some kind of mould or bacteria. Most likely a mould. Plume/bloom has not yet shown to be anything other than a mould. As you've tried, if it brushes off easily and there's no stale or weird off smell, it was plume mould and you're good to go! Enjoy!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...
Mould spores are everywhere in the air. Mold growth requires moisture, a food source (cigar boxes, cedar sheets etc) and a substrate (cigars). Humidor is basically providing good contitions for mould.
I wouldnt worry if it has brushed off. I've had an outbreak like this only for it never to return once cleaned. Just keep an eye on everything.
