• Cohiba Siglo VI - worth it?

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

I am finalising my latest order and wanted your expert opinions on the Siglo VI. A single is ?42.00... I currently have one in my basket but wanted to know... is it worth it? I have read some great things about this stick, but what do you think?

It's a very good smoke with some age on it. If you want to purchase one to smoke young, it's not really worth the ?42 IMO.

Especially with Cohibas.

At least 4 or 5 years, but that's just my opinion. Tastes vary...

Can't add much to what's already been said. I find Cohibas need a good 5/6 years but having the patience to let them get that old is easier said than done lol

Thanks gojira

I might wait until I have a more established selection to purchase one of these; I'm still at the stage where I am trying out different brands and experimenting rather than aging (that, and I can hear those puros calling to me from the confines of their cedar prison!)

Haha, it isn't easy in the beginning, but you'll get there.

Thanks again gojira

On a slight tangent, are there particular marcas that smoke well young? The Trinidad Reyes seems to fall into this category. Are there some, like Cohiba that should be left for some years before enjoying?

I find that the following cigars smoke well young:

HUHC
Hoyo PR
Reyes as you mentioned
San Cristobal El Principe

Better with some age on them:
Bolivar
PL
JL

Then again, all CC's profit from a few years down.

Try to find some aged cigars, maybe 3 to 5 years, to taste the differences between those and some young sticks.
