Yes, they were 'O' levels then, just translating for our younger members, picked up two at School & another 4 at Tech College, on a pre-nursing course; which was enough to start SRN nurse training & many other jobs now needing a degree.
Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.
R&J TubosNo1 '75, picked up a box of 6, at the beginning of the summer. Unusually, the box is actually stamped with the date. Didn't wait too long before I had the opportunity to smoke one, on a fine afternoon at my local caf?. These were machine made so not the same as a vintage the hand made de Luxe would be but still a fine starter for the afternoon & taking time to appreciate smoking such an ancient if not venerable cigar. I was preparing for my GSE's in '75 & you?
yowzer... I was busy being born... and sadly dont look that much younger than you!!
"Dear heart, you're talking to a man- a real man- who drinks straight Tequilla, with lime and salt on the rim, and smokes cigars" (J Zavala)

...or, strictly, not 'needing' a degree. The route you took, and similar ones, is one that would better suit many youngsters in many occupations now if only they were still available.
No4 Clear Havana's: Another 1960's UK Clear Havana, in a charming padded pack of 6. These came to me as part of a large buy with an ex member of the Club Havana. Just had the one box so I still have tried one yet but it's hardly been 3yrs, sure the moment to try on will arise soon.
Bought at the same time was two boxes of la Tropicana, 1960's Jamaican NC's. I have smoked the first box & I know PJ has tried them as well. A fine starter, just a Jamaican coffee required for the perfect match.
I'm curious about this Jamaican coffee Simon Bolivar, is it a particular brand? Wouldn't mind getting some if you could point me in the right direction? Great haul by the way!

The most famous Jamaican coffee is Blue Mountain, & used to be the most expensive. This photo was taken down the caf? so was 'ordinary coffee' but I do have Blue Mountain beans at home that we picked up their earlier this year & the Cuban coffee beans from Cubita from our visit to Havana. Although it's in a Cubita cup, I was drinking Blue Mountain, when I smoked my first Cohiba Reserva Churchill from my selection box, back in July.
