Montecristo No 2

I am looking to buy a box of Montecristo no 2 for a birthday present to myself and I have been reading about this great smoke subject to build quality and what mood the roller was in that day. As a newbie I have had my fair share of Montys and they have been consistently good, I do like the flavor profile of the Montecristo hence my interest in this one. Should I be worried about construction or should treat it like any other and accept its from Cuba and anything possible?

Buy from somewhere you trust and you should be fine.
I've never had a problem with Monte 2's . Steallar cigars Imho.

I wouldnt buy them blind, so many crap monte 2 out there, I have been disappointed more than once. Like all the cigars they over produce, the quality varies wildly.

Basically all the issues you get with cubans just seem more prevelant in these for me, underfilled, overfilled, some boxes have very poor wrappers which is why I would prefer to buy in person.

Iver not had many issues with other pyramids that are not as popular, upmann or diplomaticos for example.

I do love the No. 2 However, the petit No.2 and edmundo are also very reliable IMHO

Never had the no 2 but have one relaxing in my humidor waiting for that perfect time, I hope it doesn't disappoint. love the petit no 2 and petit Edmundo is great as well

The 2 is a great smoke. Bit long for me in the winter but those Summer evenings will be with us soon.

I too love the Monte 2 and have never had any problems as I recall.... Cohibas on the other hand.... but that's probably a whole different thread!

I've had two over the past month or so...From the same box...One was just ordinary...the other was lovely...Still not as great as the p2 imo.

Recent Monte No2's should be fine, as long as from a reputable dealer.
