I assume your asking for confirmation it's mould Decky, rather than descending to the level of now having a thread displaying our mouldy cigars?? As per our recent topic on this conversation I can confirm it is. Terrible shame but these are past their best before date & you can expect no less, they will turn into dust shortly. 1985 is an unusual vintage (did someone write a date on the box?) but I have smoked older; if you wish to send them to me I'll take it upon myself to dispose of them sensitively.

Wow that's one old stick...Simon has kindly offered his services to dispose of it...if he is unable for any reason I'll take on the task [emoji41].

So far you've done the correct thing...what I did when I found mold was take the cigars that were all together and put them in a sperate lock and lock box for a month...just to make sure it doesn't spread

            I wouldn't operate. I would cremate it.

Should just be able to lightly brush that off and then smoke it, check its not on the foot though. The band looks newer than 1985 though, maybe just the colour in the image.

                Brush/wipe/cut/cremate.

Forgive what may be an obvious question from a newbie - but are you talking about the white marks around the cap as being the mould and/or the feint green blotches on the wrapper (which I've had on some of mine)?
Also, bonus point to Decky for choosing a pair of trousers for the shot to 'pick-up' the green - real commitment!

The green sports are fine, they tend to be water spots...you tend to find them on cigars...i don't think they affect the burn or taste, but i can't be sure on that...maybe one of the experience BOTL could shed more light on it...but the Mould we are talking about is the white stuff...theres another post where we've been talking about mold vs plume which is a totally different topic, but something thats quite interesting.

Yet this mold looks exactly like what they claim is plume

Forgive me for diving-in on your thread, Decky, but with these knowledgeable BOTL on, can anyone tell me if the mark on this HdMPR is the dreaded mould or something else? It seems to have a smaller dot in the centre.

Water spot or a leaf blemish, nothing to worry about GB.
