Double bag in large press-seal freezer bags as well, should prevent any frost issues.

When I read up on this, if I remember correctly it said 2-3-2.
              Does everyone just do 1-2-1?

I'm sure I did 2-3-2 but it was 18 months ago

pretty sure wrapping them in plastic and sticking them in the freezer for two days would keep the relatives away too

I've not done this...but the guys use the freezing method when the cigars are bought from a factory or from the actual country they are produced in..ie Cuba Dominican Republic etc. This is to kill the tobacco beetles and other insects that will ruin the cigar

                          Not quite mate.

Cuban: anything exported from Cuba to another country has been frozen so you are safe, anything you buy in Cuba you must freeze.

Non Cuban: I don't know 100% but I would suggest that the same rules apply as above.

Bottom line, if you buy in the country of origin (especially if off someone who's cousin works in the factory or a lifeguard or a local) then freeze it.

                          Krist

I've just stuck some cigars in the fridge which I've bought....

I didn't have a box so split them up in in to 3 x 5 in a zip lock bag then in another bag.. I've packed the cigars loosely in the bag...is this correct or should they be tightly packed?

Then put them in a old clean ice cream tub in the fridge.

Never done this so just wanted to make sure im doing it correctly

Interesting, SHAMZ84. I was just reading in don TJ's journal about this practice of freezing cigars. It was't clear why this is done and apparently, he never did it.

So my question is - why are you freezing your cigars?
