  • Cohiba Coronas Especiales

Hi everyone, just a quick question for you all about Cohiba.
After having a dream where I somehow survived a plane crash, fell into Cuba and ended up sharing a box of Cohiba Coronas Especiales with Fidel Castro himself (it was very vivid for some reason haha)
Anyway, I've been thinking about getting some Coronas Especiales from the Casa in Rome when I go there on holiday in about 3 weeks time but I'm unsure whether to get more Siglo VI's, more Genios Maduro or more Coronas Especiales (as in more of one vitola than the other, having not tried any of these yet). Does anyone have any opinion on these sticks??
Of course I'll be picking up a couple of the new La Escepcion release and I think a Monte Especiales No. 2 but the Cohiba is my main concern due entirely down the cost.
    Thanks a lot,
    Matt

Think you must of gone to bed thinking about cigars matt hence the dream.

Think a poll might answer your question for members that have smoked the cigars you mentioned
then upto you to the decide which one's to buy.

I'd go for the Siglo VI or the Especials , the VI would sway me probably though.

If you're determined to go down the Cohiba route, you can't beat a Sig VI with some age on it Matt. However, as Oski says there are plenty other Marcas out there that are great smokes and not as pricey as Cohiba.

One thing I will add , cohiba are wonderful cigars for sure but not fresh they do need some age, five years minimum imo. If your buying to smoke and not lay down , I'd recommend Ramon allones , Juan Lopez , upmann they will all surely benefit from ageing obviously but are good cigars fresh

Thanks for the advice guys! I do indeed intend to buy a few to lay down and also a few to smoke straight away, I was thinking 3 Siglo VI's and a couple of Corona Especiales to lay down and then maybe something else to smoke straight away. I've tried most brands but not dabbled much into Cohiba due to the price, I think now is about the right time to get some real good cigars such as Cohiba Cheers,Matt.

Siglo vi and CCE both great sticks

id buy both LOL , see which floats your boat

age is a factor tho and id agree 5 years plus and then you,l be rewarded for your patience .

If money is/were no object and it had to be cohiba ( not my favorite ) .

lanceros and corona especial are the the best cohiba has to offer .

siglo VI ... Pfft ... All sigVI's ever made are still to young to smoke .

That's a bold statement Derrek, I for one would love to try a SigVI from '03, can't imagine for one second it would be too young to smoke. I have some from '08 that in my opinion are just brilliant, but then, it's just my opinion

Sig VI is usually a very safe choice, specially if you can find one with some she on it. Also, if you can find them, I'd definitely try a Esplendido - it's a superb cigar.

Okay sounds good, thanks guys! I'll definitely get some Siglo VI and CCE's then, I love the CCE size and hopefully I get some decent Siglo VI with a bit of age on already
