  • Trinidad Reyes

Had my first Trinidad Reyes today and I absolutely loved it! Loads of sweet coffee an caramel. Now there not the cheapest brand, ?9 for a 40 min smoke or ?13 for a corona size. So before I restock I thought I'd ask everyone's advice. Is the coloneales as nice as the Reyes? Are there any other brands that are similar in flavour profile but a little cheaper? I had a bolivar petit corona today too and I really enjoyed that aswell, it did have some similarities but it was also quite different. Bolivar is quite a good value brand and I'm sure with a couple years age it would possibly be even nicer but I've not smoked any aged cigars as far as I know.

any help will be much appreciated

The closest I can think of in terms of the sweetness would be something like a Por Larranaga PC, however they need 2-4 years on them ideally for the caramel to really show itself.

I prefer the Coloniales to the Reyes personally and think the premium is worth it in comparison to say the premium you pay for Cohiba.

Best bet is to get hold of a few singles and try them for yourself.

For me the Reyes cant really be replacedfor flavour profile... Though the recommended PLPC is a great stick in its own right.

The Fundadores is a wonderful occasion smoke too.

I keep meaning to. That one was far too long. I trialed a very short 1 1/2 minute review and i wanted to get good lighting and a better pc for editing but money got short.

Its something i would like to pick up in 2016 and try to get a nice professional finish on.

Yes, try the Coloniales, it's a very refined smoke & a bit cheaper than the Cohiba line.

Personally I liked all the chat and don't mind the length as long as it's filled up with interesting stuff. I watch a lot of Karl pearsons reviews and he's spot on a lot of the time although he does tend to repeat himself over the course of the review.

The Reyes is a wonderful smoke, one of my favourites, the Por Larranga PC is similar but not the same. If you have the time the coloniales is as good if not a better cigar.
