Edit: just remembered that I have a Nub Double Maduro sat in a desktop Might try that as an appetiser.
What was it about the maduro cj that put you off trying other Cuban maduro's.

As far as I know Tony there is only one other Cuban maduro range and that's the Cohiba Maduro 5 but some of their releases have darker wrappers that might suggest they are maduro.

Hey Tony, I've never had any other CC maduro tbh, only a few NCs and they tasted crap. Put me off the maduro thing altogether and I've not been back since. I will fire up the aforementioned Nub as whilst not liking their whole range, I respect them as a manufacturer

                  Here

The packaging is less than magnificent, just a plain wooden box. The cigars themselves are very rustic looking with quite defined veins and definitely not oily yet. I made a point of smelling as soon as I opened the box and there was none of the rich sweetness that you expect with maduros, more a musty barnyard smell with a hint of ammonia to it. I may light one up at the weekend.

Whilst there are a few 'flat' ones, they do look attractive What's the box code John?

I've only got a couple of Partagas boxes but they're notably basic compared to other marques. What's your plan with these, one now and then maybe one every few months.....I'm eager to hear how you find your first one.
I'm gonna have to get myself some though.

My plan is obviously to try one. If I like them then like you say, they join the smoking roster. If its okay but I feel it needs time then they'll go to bed. If I hate them I sell them on. Whichever result it was still worth buying a box.
