Bit of a strange one ,

speaking to an old mate and he tells me a mate of his brought him 25 R & J robustos from Cuba

as far as im aware this would be the short churchill

ive asked him for a photo of the cigar and box

he also commented theyr like the wide churchill only shorter and thinner .....told him they should be 50rg x 4.9"

il put the pic up for your comments

any lads with boxes of short churchills , does it say short churchill on the end or is it like the photo ROBUSTO ?

also pointed him in the direction of the cuban cigar website , where he may form an opinion for himself

i know what he,s paid and even if genuine , his " mate " added a fair amount for his trouble , no favours here that i can see

It should say 'short churchills' Wolfie. There was a robusto LE in 2001 and it was a double bander. The one on the left has a double band.

thanks , il get back to him , im wondering has he put a wide churchill at the side of the " robusto " as he mentioned the diff in size , looks iffy to me , im afraid .

According to CCW there should be a hologram to show they were bought in Cuba - is that on the box?

They look fake to me I must admit

Also - does the warranty seal appear on boxes from Cuba? Genuine question as for some reason I was always under the impression it doesn't

thanks for that , still awaiting his reply , i think their fake , i dont personally think their is a R & J robusto ...........only the short churchill and as pointed out an i agree it would say short churchill , not robusto

when i hear more il post the outcome

Only one there is limited release

My box of short churchills has 10 Short Churchills written on the side and the cigars have a second band with Short Churchill on it.

dont know Si , no reponse as yet , Vic just happened to say he,d got R & J robustos , i was suspicious and asked for a foto , the one i posted on here

I think your mate's been had Wolfie. The only RyJ release that has said Robustos was the 2001(?) EL. If this was that , the box would have an EL sticker on the top right plus the cigars would have an EL band too. It's hard to see from his photo but it looks like those bands & stickers are missing

Here's my only remaining single plus the box. I found another 4 in Barcelona last summer but the EL bands are missing so I'm doubtful of their authenticity. Note that all my sticks have the old RyJ bands
