• 33rd Anniversary Falklands Surrender.

Had my first after church to get the ball rolling. A Cabanos Belvederes <'04, surprisingly good starter.SAM_7239.jpg SAM_7240.jpgIn the afternoon went into Antwerp city & met up with my mate Zowie. We started off with a LGC No3 from my new box from Sept '02;SAM_7243.jpg great draw SAM_7245.jpg& amazingly powerful for a 28RG.SAM_7246.jpgSAM_7247.jpgSAM_7248.jpg Followed up with a pair of QdO from Zowie's new box of '06,SAM_7250.jpg went down very well to follow up. SAM_7252.jpgFinally another pair from a brand new box, this one a Boli BF '06,SAM_7262.jpg a great flav, heavy oil staining on box liner, SAM_7261.jpgnice sheen left on wrapper. Weird thing was the cocktail size hole that seemed to go the length of the stick,SAM_7256.jpg like it had been wrapped around a cocktail stick. Anyone sent is before? SAM_7255.jpgSAM_7263.jpg
Great to talk things over with someone who hadn't heard me sea stories before, for those how haven't heard them either, check out my Falklands blog on this site.
PS Due to Martyn being very busy we have yet to send the monies raised at the herf to Combat stress but as soon as Martyn is able to send it; I'll fwd it & post the receipt asap.

Nice write up Simon Bolivar. Strangely on tapatalk your pictures and words aren't displayed but they do come through on Web View. See pic below. How do I get to read your Falklands blog? Have you got a link somewhere? Couldnt see it.

Thanks for that! I wondered and assumed I couldn't see because of lack of privileges. Off to the web view.

Really looking forward to reading the blog from Part 1. Going to save it for a wee dram and a smoke this week.

Cheers guys, indeed it was a great afternoon, not often one cracks 3 new boxes of Havana's in one afternoon. The blog can be found on the main page, at the bottom, with all the stats, start at part one & if you have the time, carry on to 17b.

I spent some time going through your blog today, it took me right back to watching the conflict on the news and seeing all the action almost as it happened.

I used to work with a guy who was shot in the upper arm in the Falklands, he didn't say much about it just that it was tough. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.

I managed to make it through to part 6 on your blog tonight and I'm looking forward to the next instalments. Very informative and insightful. Interesting about Gib. too. I had a mate who was in the RFA and loved the Gib. stop-offs where he'd buy the biggest bottles of Jack Daniels I've ever seen.
