Looking at the answer though I did make a couple of silly mistakes

Nope, firstly it's too hard, second as I don't work in the trade I'm not allowed to do the exam.

There is a huge waiting list to do the exam and the pass rate is very low.

I assume you mean pass rate, otherwise we are talking about a completely different sort of examination!
