This used to be one of my favorite cigars, I took a few years off from smoking. When I started again, punch was the first cigar I purchased. It was not the punch punch that I loved. I read that a Cuba changed the blend. Does anyone know if this is true? The punch that I loved was a medium bodied, very rich, with great smoke output, and very nutty, with hint of cedar. Could anyone tell me if current productions have this profile?

Last one I had was in 2013. No idea of the age of it but it was pretty similar to what you described.
Perhaps the ones you had previously had been aged and matured for a while and the new one you had was still young?

Blend for was changed(along with all (most?) other cigars) around 2003 but some one will come and give you a more specific date
not a great punch smoker so can not really help you on your questComment
