The price of tubes.

Just browsing fir my next purchase and am astonished at the variation in price for tubed versions of their cigars and how they vary.

For example

Cohiba Robusto 3 pack @ ?58.39 vrs 3 pack tubed @ ?79.39

Monte Edmundo 3 pack @ ?49.00 vrs 3 pack tubed @ ?53.89

That makes the Cohiba tubes ?7 each against the Montechristo at ?1.63 each.

I would not mind betting the tubes are produced by the same factory for Habanos at the same price for corresponding sizes and the price for tubed variant varies from brand to brand depending on where they are in the Habanos pecking order, ie Cohiba being the premium label therefor the biggest difference for tubed cigars.

Im not having a go at Cohiba, we all know they are the flagship brand and cost a premium over the other Habanos marques but do they really have to shaft us for the tubes as well.

Now you know not to throw the tubes away! I've picked up a few Cohiba tubes on Ebay and refilled them.

I use one of these, comes in very handy for carrying a single round with you and fits all sizes.

Drill holes in them, fill with humidification beads/ gel, let loose in traveldor or humidor as a great humidification system.

Could always drill some small holes in them and use them as salt and pepper tubes.
