  • The A?ejados program

Has this been talked about on here already ?

Habanos have released two ready aged cigars a montecristo churchill and a RyJ piramide. They are aged in cuba for 5-8 years. Ajay at LCDH has the RyJs in

Never heard of them. Are they just ones they couldn't sell before for some reason? Or something they found in a warehouse?

I did think the same thing, did someone at Habanos think 8 years ago lets make a aged range, or someone looking in the warehouse came across a few cartons of forgotten cigars and though marketing stunt

There was a RyJ pyramide from 2000 to 03/04 I think and as far as I know it was universally hated so the cynic in me say's its old stock of these. The churchill on the other hand I've never heard of but I would be trying singles before going deep.

I agree think I will try the monte not overly interested in the RyJ. If I like it then I will get excited

I've barely been aware of these coming in - what sort of price are they expected to be, I'm assuming similar to the Reservas?

I'm not too excited about either to be honest

I smoked the R and J 2 months ago and it is a nice looking stick. The first half had some nice twang and sweetness, the second half was harsh and nasty.

I have seen several reviews around the net that had the same kind of experence. I have also heard of people who liked them.

These sticks are odd. The history is blurred and the story obfuscated and confused.

My suspicion is that they were too poor to release at the time so they got stuck away. Either that or just forgotten about. It would make no sense to build a dedicated program around such a malinged stick. But hey ...it's Cuba.

Regardless, if they smoked well they would sell. To date they do not.

Looking forward to trying the monte.

Box dates are, according to some suppliers, relating to '08. It does seem a little ambitious to think that Habanos squirrelled these away for the last seven or so years in order to offer an exclusive and aged 'special'

I've heard all sorts of stories about these cigars, none of which I have been able to stand up officially.
I smoked one on Friday afternoon and it wasn't up there as one of the best cigars I've ever smoked but I shall try another in a few weeks before I make a final decision.
