  • Cohiba Robusto - The King is Back?

    Good Evening Peeps,

Trust all is well for a Saturday night

In the last week, I have smoked 2 EMS Cohiba Robustos. I have to say hands down it has been a very long time since I have smoked one with this assortment and development of flavours through the 1st third all the way to the nub. Absolutely mind blowing delicious, peppery, slight leather, coffee and bountiful amounts of smoke. It was so good, I put it down to a once in a while rocket to the moon, then I tried another on the following evening. The same again. I have one left which I am hesitant about trying in case it lets me down or worse is so mind shattering would I be able to find some more....

I know Tommy recently did a box split. How have you found them to be smoking? If Cohiba are putting their energies back in their fabled Robusto, we will be in for a good ride...Hopefully....please sweet Jesus please!!!

Anyone else dabbled with a Cohiba Robusto? Any feedback?

    Cheers,

    Ross.Co

I've never boughta Cohiba Robusto before. I just remember the last two times going down to Cuba and getting a mate to bring back a few CoRos off the table in the Cohiba factory (MUO box code for 2014 or BTO box code for 2013) to smoke near the resort. A few odds and ends in small trades before that and they were never much to bat an eye.
They cost as much as the Siglo III and have never found enough enjoyment to justify a box of those over my standards Siglo IIIs. The Cohiba Siglo III is never rolled in El Laguito (at least I've never heard of a box coming from there) so their consistency is surprising to me. But it also eases my mind as I no longer have to make sure their box codes are XXX instead of XYX.

Back to the CoRos. Great cigars but I absolutely detest the shape. Hate robustos. But with recent batches, I think I'm going to have to get a new 2014 box of these to put down. I probably won't touch them for at least a year but from everything I hear in 2014 is that they're as good as the 2013s which I've found to be splendid.

The 2014 box I split was very good IMO. The CoRo Supremos are lovely too.

Smoked around half a dozen. None compared one bit to my first ever one: creamy, grassy, felt like a dragon retro haling the thick smoke, highly addictive.
Made myself green with it, had to lay down afterward, kicked my arse it did

Thanks for letting me know. Appreciated. I have 3 Supremos awaiting my lighter.

Are you wanting to keep the CoRo's Tommy?

            Cheers,

            Ross

What Monk's trying to say is, Cohiba look to have improved over the last thirteen months, even though I know he wouldn't smoke one with less than six years!
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
