For Guests, Newbs and our resident hard-of-thinking can we please clear this up.
1. There is no such cigar as a Punch Gold Medal, it does not exist and has never existed.
2. There IS a Punch Medalla d'Oro, which is a double banded, Robusto Extra intended as the Edicion Regional Gran Bretana for 2011 but not released until 2012. These are very easy to find, because not being the greatest cigars most vendors have them on a barrow outside the shop along with an honesty box.
3. There IS/WAS a cigar vitola called BOLIVAR Gold Medal. It/was a Lonsdales and just because it/was wrapped in shiny paper should not be confused with a Robusto Extra. The Bolivar Gold Medal — Boli GM as it is endearing referred to by the knowing — had a somewhat extraordinary history. As a production cigar it was deleted from the Habanos catalogue in 1992. It then reappeared as a special release in 2004, and was briefly reinstated in 2007 as a double banded, supposedly exclusive LCdH cigar. The last boxes were produced in 2011. It is/was an excellent cigar and is much sought after.
Today outside of the UK, Bolivar Gold Medal have all but disappeared, which isn't surprising, because that's what happens in three years to a great cigar.
So, if Mr Butters really knows where Bolivar Gold Medal an be found and at their normal selling price, can he please relay that information to Mr ValeTudoGuy, as I'm pretty confident Marc can comfortably find good homes for a fair few boxes.
