Would these also be likely contenders for a winter smoke?

    Davidoff Ambassadrice

    Partagas Shorts

    Inka Tres Petit Corona

    Montecristo No.5

Any Inca is a short smoke as they're so bad you'll chuck it shortly after lighting, bloody awful.

A Monte 5 or Partagas Short will take around 40 mins to smoke if you take your time. Depends how long you can handle your fingers and toes being numb for that length of time....

          I know I will be suffering.... :-)

40 mins is about the maximum of bearable for me too Steve. If the outside humidity is low a Monte 5 or Party Shorts will do their funky thing. If it's high, you're taking a chance with them.

I wouldn't take any hand rolled outside in high humidity. I aim for something like a 20-30min smoke, and that is all it is, because when I'm cold and uncomfortable it's never going to be a cigar event.

A shite little analog hygrometer words for outside.

Need not be accurate to the 1 or 3% like your humidor hygrometer.

You could use a shite little analogue but it will soon go rusty, outside hygrometers need to be ingress and moisture proof Butts .... goodish ones start at around ?30, weather quality ones cost even more.

Is humidity really that big a problem for smoking outside?
Or is it humidity combined with temperature?
The only reason I asked is out of curiosity, I such a hygro outside, where I normally smoke.
It was reading 90% and 14 degrees....
I smoked a GoF robusto gordo start to finish with no issue..
So does the humidity only become an issue if the temperature drops?
                  If so, below what?

Yes, is a combination of the two. I don't really understand why, but the effect on cigars isn't good. It happens in reverse as well when high temperature and high humidity clash.

I'm guessing you smoked your GOF in daylight, and 14?C is well above the temperature at which dew will form, but that, when the temperature is in the low singles or below 0?C and dew or mist are around or forming, is the warning.

Was smoked in darkness, sadly! The only time I get to smoke is when the kids are in bed (mostly!).
Good info on the temperature though - I will keep a close eye on it.
I have no desire at all to smoke for 20 mins, so can't face the smaller sticks. I need to be about there for 45 mins and upwards to relax!

Before you buy a Shire shed look for independent reviews, I was all set to buy one till I discovered their shit service. B&Q don't sell them, they're only the money taker.

Then why don't you put the lawnmower in the tent and yourself in the shed next to it? Much more comfey and the mower won't mind!
