due to an uncharacterisable nature, one cannot say it's an addiction. Surely allusions can be drawn to standard addictions to drugs but it's eventually too different to matter.
Addicted to gambling you have to go and gamble as and when
Addicted to cigars we buy as and when if it wasen't an addiction why do we have x amount in our humidor or cabinets and cooladors etc.
Not trying to upset anyone just the way i see it myself.

Drug addicts don't have stashes of drugs. They do them religiously. Gambling addicts don't have stashes of cash and do it religiously.
We have a stash of cigars and do not smoke religiously. I am talking about the majority of us - not those odd ones who smoke one or three cigars a day.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Cigar smoking has the potential to lead to addiction but by nature is less likely than other tobacco products to lead to addiction. Most addiction is a means led problem So I would argue that addiction to tobacco would for most end with fags and roll ups even if it starts with cigars. There are drug addicts that have large stashes of drugs, that's what most dealers are, addicts who feed the habit by selling gear. Most addicts have fuck all money and possessions and would certainly not collect rare batches of heroin or crack to look at and talk to their pals about! Cigar smoking is an oddity because it is an addictive weed that is smoked in a controlled way. I equate it to booze, I drink regularly but it's likely to be a single glass of rather good wine, brandy or recently whisky. The guy with the drinking problem favours special brew or frosty jack for its alcohol to cash ratio.

Hooked on 20 plus a cigs day for close to 2 decades. Tried heaps of ways and heaps of times to quit and it always eventually ending in eventual failure.
Hello cigars and pretty not much looked back. I think I twice tried to smoke a cig in the first month when out on the piss, couple of draws and nearly sick. Can go a week easy without smoking a cigar, no problem. None of the short temper or hart palpations at the thought of going without a cig. Sometimes smoke cigars 4 a weekend, sometimes 1 or even none. Take it or leave it.
I do spend an awful lot of time thinking about cigars and planning my next purchase I will admit. Or even just walk past CASC and can`t stop myself from going in and buying one. That said it could potentially sit in the humidor a month or could get smoked that night.

Lads i'm not talking about obsession and addiction in smoking cuban or non cuban cigars
i'm on about buying them wether singles boxes and cabinets.
Still think we are addicted in buying and obsessed in reading and writing about them
in my case sometimes dream about them .

So what you're saying is not addiction to the drug in the lead but addiction/obsession to collecting. Yeah I had a spell if obsessive buying as many others have when new to the forum but I have that under control now. I'd love to have a cigar cellar for ageing specific stock and one unit upstairs for smoking stock but I think I'll have to be content with my scuba box and desktop singles humi for now.

Neither for me, it has been a regular pastime that required the purchase of stock to continue my enjoyment. Currently it's an irregular pastime that doesn't require the same level of stock replenishment.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
